Introduction 

The Internet is an extraordinary means of communication that is widely used for obtaining information and entertaining millions of people.  In certain cases, however, it is misused to the extend of distributing content that may be illegal or harmful. As cyberspace is not restricted by national boundaries, these illegal activities may easily find a “cyber shelter” for them to hide into.  
SafeLine’s primary goal is to eliminate photographic material that portrays children. SafeLine fights against any type of online content that can be considered as illegal. 

SafeLine accepts reports for material that you may encounter online and contains:

• photographic material picturing ill-treatment of children round the world
• racist and xenophobic oriented content that violates the Greek Law
• other material that can be considered illegal.

SafeLine cooperates with Internet Service Providers, the National Academic Network "GRNET" and the National School Network, Research and Cultural Institutions, Consumer Organizations and the Greek Police, in order for the flow of illegal content on the Internet to be limited. 

Greek Safer Internet Centre 

SafeLine is one of the three axes of the Greek Safer Internet Centre  that is implemented under the auspices of the European Commission within the framework of the Safer Internet Programme . The other two axes are:
